I am very excited about The Mother's Tale finally hitting UK bookshelves and look forward to its continuing reception. It's been out in Australia for over 12 months now and has proven very popular here with reading groups as a result of the contemporary social issues it grapples with.  I've attended many events where, as a result of having read The Mother's Tale, women have felt free to open up about their myriad experiences of motherhood, good and bad.  In many cases the novel has also acted as a spring board to broader discussions on life, the universe and practically anything! Events like this always bring me a great deal of pleasure as I believe the best fiction should be confronting, it should make you react in one way or another and ideally it should provoke conversation and discussion around itself.
